From the very beginning of my life you've been a great mom. I may not remember all the places we visited, but I believe they were important moments spent together. Here in 1988 you took me to the Smithsonian Museum.

In my earliest memories I recall many car rides and adventures. Little things like taking me to Aunt Cindy's house, Toy Traders, craft shows, and Hunt Valley mall left a lasting impression.

Throughout my childhood you were generous with presents. "Bumping" me on the head was a tradition I'll carry forward with children of my own. Other kids might have been spoiled by such things or conditioned to take them for granted.

But for me all those books, games, and toys you lavished on me that filled the basement nourished my imagination and created profoundly happy memories, so meaningful they still resonate with me today.

From birthdays and halloween parties, Christmas and Easter mornings, day trips to Ocean City, evenings looking at picture books together, moments before bed when you played with my stuffed animals and gave them voices, countless evenings watching movies at home, and spending time with our pets at Scott's Manor, I look back on all you did for me and want to thank you.

I've been lucky to have such a good mom in my life. Thanks for all you continue to do.

Have a happy mother's day.
