Castle - Room 49

You traverse the marble floor of a large hall. Two guards flank a closed door. One of them flips his helmet visor up and addresses you in an authoritative tone:

Halt. You approach the king's throne room. His lordship is not receiving visitors.

The guard glances nervously at his partner who seems to be propped against the wall, half-asleep. With some trepidation he leans toward you and speaks softly:

Our king is unwell, but you may enter. His mind is ravaged by the chaos that befell this place months ago. He trusts no one. His beloved queen abandoned him and stays cloistered in a separate wing of the castle. Some of the king's men changed allegiance in support of her. We must prevent partisan bloodshed. I believe an outsider like yourself can reason with him.
